Share your expertise in 2021

January is a time when many think about goals for the new year. Consider making involvement with the College one of your priorities in 2021. My ongoing service has been one of the most enriching, satisfying aspects of my career.

The College offers many opportunities for involvement – at any career stage.

The Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the College’s word-class journal, is seeking applications for Associate Editor and Deputy Editor positions. These are part-time, paid positions that provide exciting opportunities to work with our scientific journal. Terms begin in 2022. Apply by Feb. 5.

If you’ve been a Fellow for three years or longer, consider applying to be a member of the College’s Board of Regents. If you’ve already served a three-year term on the Board of Regents, consider applying for the positions of vice president or treasurer. The application deadline is Feb. 12.

College committee work offers something for everyone! Whether you’d like to get involved in advocacy, support our clinical education efforts, or develop new resources to advance the practice of allergy, we have ample opportunities for your involvement. Take a moment to explore our organization to find how you can share your ideas and expertise. Information on applying for committees will be coming soon via emails and in Insider. We’ll be taking applications from March 1 to April 15 for new appointments beginning in November.

One easy way to make a difference is to support The Allergists’ Foundation, formerly the ACAAI Foundation. The Foundation’s programming aims to empower community practicing allergists on the front lines of patient care.

College members are some of the most knowledgeable, experienced and resourceful medical professionals. In my experience, I have found our volunteers always ready to roll up their sleeves, get involved, and contribute to meet not only the needs of the College, but also to further the best patient care.  Consider sharing your expertise in 2021!
