ACAAI Executive Medical Director Dr. Todd Mahr shares practical tips regarding session proposals for the ACAAI Annual Meeting.
What role can the College’s committees play in shaping the program for the 2026 Annual Meeting?
Committees are encouraged to review the programs and lectures presented at this year’s meeting and identify any gaps in focus areas. Follow the session proposal submission process, including suggestions for the program format and potential speakers. Refer to the guidance below for more details. Please note that your speaker suggestions, and even the proposed content, may be combined or modified by the Annual Meeting Program Committee.
Why is this important?
The College tries to have a balanced, cutting-edge meeting. To ensure we’re addressing the evolving needs of our members, we need suggestions as to what might be missing or what is “needed” by our members for education and knowledge advancement.
What advice would you give committee members as they prepare session proposals for next year’s meeting?
Be sure to follow the guidance provided with the session proposal. If you have any questions, reach out to the Annual Meeting Program liaison assigned to your committee or your staff liaison. To find out who your liaison is, visit the committee directory and navigate to your specific committee.
What is the process for a committee to submit a session proposal?
Bring your idea to your next committee meeting or share it with your chair. All proposals need to be submitted via the Annual Meeting Submission site. You will need to provide the following information: session title, description, one learning objective per topic; recommend a speaker for each topic and include the name and email address of suggested presenters; select the session format that best aligns with your session’s topics and goals; and choose the appropriate track designation.
Committee Proposals are due on Dec. 10. Be sure to check with your chair on when they plan to have the committee’s proposals finalized.
