Your leadership’s decisions

The following are key actions taken by the Board of Regents at the May 16 meeting.

  • Appointed Luz Fonacier, MD, FACAAI as the College’s representative to an expert panel to update the EAACI/GA²LEN/EDF/WAO Urticaria Guideline.
  • Deferred providing endorsement of the forthcoming revised EAACI/GA²LEN/ EDF/ WAO Guideline for Urticaria pending formal review and approval by the Executive Committee or Board of Regents in early 2021.
  • Ratified the appointment of J. Allen Meadows, MD, FACAAI as one of the College’s three representatives to the International Collaboration in Asthma, Allergy and Immunology (iCAALL) through 2021.
  • Ratified the decision to endorse the World Allergy Organization (WAO) Anaphylaxis Guidance document contingent on the WAO’s willingness to incorporate the revisions recommended by the ACAAI Anaphylaxis Committee and authorized the President to make the final determination regarding the ACAAI endorsement.
  • Ratified the appointment of Todd Mahr, MD, FACAAI for a renewable 4-year term as an Assistant Editor to AllergyWatch through 2024.
  • Accepted the unaudited Financial Statements for the period ending 3/31/2020.
  • Approved the applications submitted by the Credentials Committee for Fellowship, Promotion to Fellowship, Scientific Fellowship, Membership, Allied Health, Fellow-in-Training and Resident/Medical Student Membership.
  • Approved the Credentials Committee’s recommendations for Retired and Emeritus Status for the named Fellows and Members.
  • Ratified the decision to hold the 2020 Joint Board Review Course as a virtual course and approval of the revised budget.
  • Approved changing the Foundation’s name to “The Allergists’ Foundation” as recommended by the Foundation Board of Trustees.
  • Approved changing the Foundation’s mission and vision statements as presented and recommended by the Foundation Board of Trustees.
  • Approved adding the College’s executive medical director and one training program director as voting members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and amending the bylaws as outlined.
  • Accepted the final audited Financial Statements for the period ending 12/31/2019.
  • Approved the Advocacy Council’s request to amend its bylaws to remove the sentence in Section 6.2 which states “No two offices may be held by the same person.”
