Support for every stage of your career

ACAAI members have come to rely on the College for our outstanding educational opportunities and practice management resources. But we also offer support for every stage of an allergist/immunologist’s career – from early days as a FIT, through years of seeing patients, doing research and more, to retirement.  Here is a summary of some of the career resources we offer.

Early career
Navigate the unique landscape of your early career – whether you’re just starting out or considering a new career or practice type.  Resources in the FIT and New Allergist Toolkit include choosing a practice environment, job search strategies, physician contracts and links to the College’s clinical materials. Residents and FITs can also apply for ACAAI-provided SPARK Grants and FIT Scholarship Grants to enable them to attend the College’s Annual Meeting each year.

Advancing your career
Whether you’re new to allergy practice or have years of experience, you may be considering a different practice type or location. Or maybe your practice is looking to add allergists to your team. Either way, the College’s Career Center can help. Job seekers can get advice on career planning, resume review and sign up for job alerts. For those looking to hire, there are special job posting prices for College members and areas to easily keep track of your listed jobs and candidates.

Contract negotiation and employment discussions can be challenging. The College has partnered with Resolve, a national firm that specializes in physician employment contracts. Resolve offers professional guidance on navigating and negotiating compensation and benefits, and College members receive a discount on Resolve’s services.  Want to learn more? Watch our recent Resolve informational webinar for tips on employment discussions and how Resolve’s services can help.

Other opportunities
Those early in their medical careers may be looking for new opportunities to interact with patients. The Community Allergist Partnership in Education (CAPE) program, developed by ACAAI Past Immediate Past President Dr. Kathleen R. May, offers elective rotation opportunities with community allergy practices.

In addition, the College recently launched the Community and Academic Partnership in Education and Research (CA2PER) program, developed by ACAAI Immediate Past President Dr. Gailen D. Marchall, Jr., that encourages collaboration in clinical research.
