ACAAI President Cherie Zachary, MD, FACAAI invites you to review the draft of Chronic Urticaria Guidelines: 2026 AAAAI/ACAAI Joint Task Force (JTF) on Practice Parameters GRADE- and Institute of Medicine-based recommendations. Please take advantage of this opportunity to assist your colleagues in shaping the specialty by providing your comments by June 30.
The update builds on the foundational 2014 JTFPP practice parameter update to the 2000 guidelines, which established several enduring principles that remain central to contemporary care. The 2026 guideline expands on these core concepts by advancing them in light of new evidence, therapies, approaches to guideline development, and greater emphasis on patient-centered implementation. The 2026 guideline focuses in greater depth on CU in children and adults, including chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), chronic inducible urticaria (CIndU), angioedema associated with CU, disease monitoring, comorbidities, health disparities, special populations, patient and caregiver experience, and sequencing of conventional and advanced therapies. The appendix supplement contains implementation guidance.
