National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month is winding down

National Asthma & Allergy Awareness Month may be winding down, but there is still time to promote the expertise of Board-certified, fellowship-trained allergists – and the relief allergists can provide for allergy symptoms.

Have you seen the posts on Instagram from College members sharing why they became allergists? You can participate too! Use our unique social media graphic and fill it in with your own words. Post it on Instagram (or one of your other social media platforms) and make sure to tag the College (@allergy_acaai) and use the hashtag #WeAreAllergists.

Let primary care physicians know that partnering with a board-certified, fellowship-trained allergist can help their patients gain control over their allergy and asthma symptoms. Our Time for an Allergist Toolkit can help!

Sharing your expertise as an allergist doesn’t have to end with National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month! Consider hosting an asthma screening, possibly as part of a community organization’s health fair. Plan now for screenings before children go back to school in late summer or fall. Use our Asthma Screening Event Planning Guide for timelines and resources.

The focus is on allergists/immunologists in May, but allergy relief is important to promote year-round. Our Asthma and Allergy Awareness Toolkit and our Marketing and Patient Materials Toolkit have resources and ideas you can use throughout the year.
