The Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters (JTFPP) is seeking nominations from College members interested in serving as a society representative or on one of the many writing groups. The JTFPP was formed in 1989 to develop practice parameters and clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and management of allergic and immunologic diseases. Members of the JTFPP represent the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.
The JTFPP is composed of six representatives from both ACAAI and AAAAI, with additional workgroup members from across North America contributing to evidence-based guidelines for severe asthma, urticaria, allergen immunotherapy, inborn errors of immunity, vaccine allergy, food allergy, anaphylaxis, rhinitis, diagnostic testing, sinusitis, and other areas of allergy immunology practice. Learn more – visit the JTFPP website.
JTFPP members must be board certified, have a command of the allergy/immunology literature, and have clinical experience in practice.
Preferred experience includes:
- previous guideline development
- a record of publication
- prior experience on a JTFPP workgroup
- advanced skills in statistical analysis
- an understanding of GRADE, shared decision-making, policy, and value-based care
Candidates must work well within teams, should be able to devote several hours per week to JTFPP work and be available to attend in-person meetings annually. While this is not a compensated position, the work is incredibly collegial, rewarding, and fulfilling. JTFPP members are expected to serve two consecutive five-year terms.
To submit a JTFPP self-nomination application, please send the following documentation by June 1, 2025 to SueGrupe@acaai.org:
- A cover letter indicating your motivation, interest, and willingness to serve if selected indicating any similar previous experiences
- A current Curriculum Vitae
