Engage in clinical discussions

Your membership in the College provides many benefits, and one of the most utilized benefits is DocMatter. As the leader in practical resources for allergists/immunologists, the College is pleased to provide the DocMatter platform at no charge to all of the College’s dues paying physician, retired, and Fellows-in-Training members.

This online forum is a virtual community for high-quality, clinical and practice management discussions. It is limited exclusively to College members. On average, more than 2,500 of our physician members participate on this platform each month by accessing the site, viewing posts via email, or posting a comment on the site.

Almost every day a new allergy/immunology-related topic is discussed on DocMatter. For example, have you seen “Skin Matters?” It’s a series of posts from the ACAAI Dermatology Committee that explore different dermatological cases. Other recent topics include venom immunotherapy, drug allergy and testing younger siblings of food allergenic children. One member asked about a patient who had a reaction after getting a tattoo and received valuable feedback from peers.

Since the site launched, more than:

  • 853 “discussion threads” have been started.
  • 6,091 “posts” have been approved and posted.
  • 954 “unique members” have contributed.
  • More than 4 million “member to member interactions” have occurred. These include starting a discussion thread, replying to a discussion, reading a discussion email, logging into the system to view a discussion, and viewing a member’s credentials.

You can feel confident posting clinical questions and topics and replying to DocMatter posts. All posts are monitored and HIPAA compliant, providing protection against liability for us as individuals and for the College as an organization.

Every College physician member has an active DocMatter account, with a unique username and password. If you have questions or need assistance, please email our DocMatter representative, Emily Seferovich.
