Early success on the Time for an Allergist campaign

Fall has officially set in around the country, and as we all remember from our school years, it’s a great time for fresh activities and new energy. I can’t wait to welcome many of you to my hometown of Louisville in November for the ACAAI Annual Scientific Meeting. While there, in addition to world-class education, you can learn more about all the great new resources and activities the College has been working on for you.

Meanwhile, I want to give you a brief update on the “Time for an Allergist” campaign that we recently launched. While it’s too early to provide data on the success of our outreach efforts, I’m excited to report that in just the first two weeks, tens of thousands of health care professionals and consumers have viewed our celebrity videos and clicked on our campaign microsite to learn more about the unique qualifications of board-certified and fellowship-trained allergists. The reaction has been very positive. The site has a strong call to action to “Find an Allergist” as well.

If you haven’t had time to check out the campaign, I invite you to visit TimeForAnAllergist.com. Just as important, don’t forget to explore our toolkit designed just for you as a way to market your practice to primary care practices and patients in your community. And if you are active on social media, we’d love your help in amplifying the campaign messages within your community of PCPs, allergy professionals, patients and friends.

In addition to the campaign, we’re also rolling out new patient education content on peanut OIT; a new online brochure about pediatric asthma; and a webinar on which financial data and metrics are most useful for allergy practices, just to name a few recent highlights.

If you travel to Louisville for the Annual Meeting, I encourage you to stop by the College Resource Center booth, where you can quickly learn about these and many other College benefits and resources. We’ll highlight general member resources and activities; practice management support; advocacy activities; and the work of the Allergists’ Foundation. It’s your central point at the meeting to learn more and to get involved. Our staff is waiting to welcome you and walk you through the topics that interest you.

I want to thank each of you for your interest and involvement in the College, and I hope to see you live in Louisville to enjoy the city and all it has to offer (including excellent dining, live horse racing at Churchill Downs and bourbon tasting, if that’s your flavor), but if not, we have a great livestream option available to enable you to benefit from our outstanding educational program from your home or office.
