Each spring, first and second year residents with a focus in pediatrics, internal medicine, or med/peds are invited to apply for the College’s competitive SPARK Award, a scholarship program to cultivate a pipeline of new physicians for our specialty.
Awardees will be given $1,500 to help cover travel and meeting-related costs to spend three days at the 2026 ACAAI Annual Meeting. They will also be paired with a Fellow-in-Training (FIT) mentor, attend a variety of sessions covering all aspects of allergy/immunology, and participate in a special FIT symposium.
Previous participants described the program as an invaluable opportunity to connect with other residents and students as well as mentors, fellows, and practicing allergists within a positive, supportive environment that fostered both learning and meaningful networking.
The application deadline is Friday, May 15. Visit the SPARK Award page for details. Program Directors are encouraged to share this information with their residents.
ACAAI President Dr. Cherie Zachary is enthusiastic about the SPARK program and is excited to see it grow. She has reached out to historically black colleges and universities to encourage residents and medical students to apply.
