- Spotlight on Anaphylaxis: The Use of Case Simulation for the Education of Allergy Emergencies (Duplicate sessions offered Friday, Oct. 25 at 1:00 – 2:30 pm and 3:00 – 4:30 pm EDT). Learn to identify and treat infant and adult anaphylaxis and gain first-hand knowledge of the use of simulation for office drills/preparedness of systemic reactions/anaphylaxis in allergy practices. Each participant will have one infant and one adult encounter using full-size manikins and preprogrammed scenarios.
- SQ Immunoglobulin Infusion (Friday, Oct. 25, 3:00 – 4:30 pm EDT). Get instruction on methods of subcutaneous (SC) administration of immunoglobulins, including facilitated SC infusion, and solutions to common issues for patients receiving infusions.
- The Nuts and Bolts of Patch Testing, Wet Wraps and Creams (Saturday, Oct. 26, 10:00 – 11:30 am EDT). Attend this expert-led introductory hands-on workshop and learn proper techniques in dermatology — patch testing, wet wraps and creams.
- Making the Cut: Shave vs. Punch Skin Biopsies (Saturday, Oct. 26, 3:00 – 4:30 pm EDT). Learn how and when to perform punch and shave biopsies and proper suturing techniques. Presenters and trainers will deliver top-level instruction on performing biopsies and successfully adding this service to your practice.
- Performing a Rhinolaryngologic Exam (Duplicate sessions offered Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1:00 –2:30 pm and 3:00 – 4:30 pm EDT). Learn about a fiberoptic rhinolaryngologic exam of the upper airway, become familiar with a rhinoscope and perform an exam on a manikin.
