October is Eczema Awareness Month

October is Eczema Awareness Month and the College has many resources on this common condition.  Check out our materials geared toward allergists and information you can share with patients.

The Atopic Dermatitis eYardstick is an excellent resource to assist patients who have continuing eczema symptoms even after trying other therapies.

Enjoy podcasts? Listen to our AllergyTalk podcast Food Allergy and Eczema, which reviews three AllergyWatch articles on the topic.

Use the College’s Atopic Dermatitis Shared Decision-Making Toolkit with your patients to discuss the benefits and risks of available treatments, and possible next steps.

Direct patients to the College’s Eczema web page for excellent information on the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of atopic dermatitis. Also online is a great College video highlighting a patients’ personal story of her struggle and successful treatment of eczema.

For take-home information, consider purchasing packs of Eczema: Advice From Your Allergist brochures. With brochures, patients can leave your office with quality printed information they can trust. You can also purchase additional copies of the patient guide, “Find Relief for your Atopic Dermatitis – A simple guide for stepping up your eczema treatment.” The guide is designed for you to place in your exam rooms to help guide discussions of next steps in treatment of atopic dermatitis.

Don’t miss this month-long opportunity! Eczema Awareness Month is an excellent opportunity to highlight your expertise in treating atopic dermatitis on your practice’s social media, website and newsletter.
