Meet your ACAAI 2025-26 candidates for election

During the 2025 Annual Business Meeting, which will be held during the ACAAI 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting, our current President-elect, Cherie Zachary, MD, FACAAI will become the College’s President. ACAAI Fellows will elect a President-elect, Vice President and Treasurer for one-year terms. They will also elect three Regents for three-year terms to succeed Jeremy S. Katcher, MD, FACAAI, Travis A. Miller, MD, FACAAI, and Meagan Shepherd, MD, FACAAI.

We believe the nominees below, proposed by the Nominating Council, embody the philosophy of their predecessors, whose combined efforts have made the College the success it is today.

President
Cherie Y. Zachary, MD, FACAAI
Eagan, Minnesota

Dr. Zachary is President-elect, ACAAI Board of Regents and Chair, Licensure Committee of the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. She retired from allergy/immunology practice after 34 years.

David R. Stukus, MD, FACAAI
Columbus, Ohio

Dr. Stukus is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio; Director, Food Allergy Treatment Center, Division of Allergy and Immunology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio; and Chair of the ACAAI Education Council.

Maureen M. Petersen, MD, FACAAI
Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Dr. Petersen is Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Allergy & Immunology and Medical Director, Pediatric Allergy & Immunology at UNC School of Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Melinda Rathkopf, MD, MBA, FACAAI
Atlanta, Georgia

Dr. Rathkopf is Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and Medical Director, Allergy at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia.

Christopher Chang, MD, PhD, MBA, FACAAI
Hollywood, Florida

Dr. Chang is Division Chief of Immunology, Allergy and Pediatric Rheumatology, and Medical Director, Pediatric Research at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida; Allergy Immunology Fellowship Program Director at Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Florida; and President-elect, Broward County Medical Association in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Mitchell H. Grayson, MD, FACAAI
Columbus, Ohio

Dr. Grayson is the Grant Morrow, III, MD Endowed Chair in Pediatric Research, Professor of Pediatrics, and Director, Division of Allergy and Immunology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He is Editor-in-Chief, Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.

Jay A. Lieberman, MD, FACAAI
Memphis, Tennessee

Dr. Lieberman is Professor of Pediatrics and Program Director, Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee and a physician at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
