Insights on the next ACAAI strategic plan

As the College develops its 2027 – 2029 strategic plan, committee input is vital. ACAAI Executive Medical Director Dr. Todd Mahr shares his thoughts on the role of committees in our strategic planning process.

How can committees help shape the College’s future?
Please participate in the membership survey; that will give us important insights into your needs. We are involving key stakeholders in our discovery and we will be working with committees to further refine our specific strategies under key program areas. If we do not know about missed opportunities, we cannot improve as an organization. As always, if there is a specific need that we are not currently addressing, let us know!

What outcomes do you hope this strategic plan will achieve for the College and our membership?
Hopefully, we will get some new ideas for programs and resources that resonate with our membership. We will be looking at where we can enhance our offerings and where we fall short or need to develop new material. The new plan might reaffirm that what we are doing is working, but it will be even more useful if we get some suggestions on where we can change!

What do you consider the College’s biggest strength that you’re counting on to further move the organization forward over the next 3-5 years?
I think our greatest strength is the fact we LISTEN to our members. As EMD, I strive to always place “member value” first and foremost when evaluating change or new programs. In the past three years I have never been disappointed by any lack of feedback from members – members speak up and we listen!
