2024 Strike Force
May 7, 2024 – Members of the College’s Strike Force are advocating for our specialty today – during World Asthma Day and National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month – on Capitol Hill. These members – Travis Miller, MD, Chair, Advocacy Council; J. Wesley Sublett, MD, Vice Chair, Advocacy Council; J. Allen Meadows, MD, Executive Director, Advocacy and Government Affairs; Gailen Marshall, Jr., MD, PhD, ACAAI President; James Tracy, DO, ACAAI President-elect; Cherie Zachary, MD, ACAAI Vice President; Todd Mahr, MD, ACAAI Executive Medical Director; M. Razi Rafeeq, MD, ACAAI Past House of Delegates Speaker; Leena Padhye, MD, AAN Day Physician Advocate; Vivek Rao, MD, AAN Day Physician Advocate; and Melinda Rathkopf, MD, AAN Day Physician Advocate – are focusing on issues most pressing to allergists, their practices and their patients, including:
- Medicare Payment Reform
- No fees for Electronic Fund Transfers, and
- Inhaler Price Issues
They met with congressional leaders and policy makers advocating for our issues and continued building relationships with these important legislators.
