The College’s House of Delegates (HOD) wants you to be aware of HOD activities. Following is a summary of our activities for the first quarter of 2023.
2023 State Delegates
Seven new delegates have been appointed in 2023. State delegates currently represent 35 states throughout the country. It’s the job of the state delegates to connect you – College members – to the College leadership. To learn more about your regional super-delegate and/or your state delegate, check out the HOD webpage.
We’ll be hosting a virtual training session for the new state delegates on June 15. It can also serve as a refresher for any of the current state delegates.
State Monitoring
A major job of the state delegates is to monitor proposed legislation. So far this year, 14 states have been tracking movement on proposed legislation related to prior authorization, narrow networks, scope of practice, epinephrine, and allergy/asthma/immunology. They reach out to their state legislators and advocate for or against the proposed legislation as advised by the HOD.

AMA Membership
The College considers the AMA one of its valued partners. We are represented in the AMA’s House of Delegates, which provides us a voice in issues affecting allergy/immunology. One of the AMA’s requirements for membership in their HOD is that at least 20% of voting members of the College are also members of the AMA. Societies’ memberships are reviewed every five years. Our review is next year, and it will be based on 2023 membership data. Keep our voice strong – join or renew your AMA membership today!
