Influenza Vaccine Codes
As you prepare for the influenza season, we have the answers to coding for the 2025-26 influenza vaccine productsAn administration code should always be reported in addition to the vaccine product code. Note: Third-party payers may have specific policies and guidelines that might require providing additional information on their claim forms.

Allergy/Immunology Coding Updates
HHS has released the 2026 ICD-10 updates, which become effective Oct. 1, 2025. Changes relevant to allergy/immunology are outlined below. Notable changes include:

  • More specificity is required for anaphylactic reactions to milk, dairy products, and eggs.
  • Changes to the language and rules of ICD-10 codes.

Note: All codes with an X in the 7th place require an
A (initial encounter), D (subsequent encounter), or
S (sequela) in the 7th position.

X in any other position is a placeholder for another number.
