The annual updates to ICD-10-CM, the diagnosis codes used to document patient conditions and submit insurance claims, take effect Oct. 1, 2026. There are no major changes to the codes commonly used in allergy and immunology, but several additions and deletions may be relevant to your practice. The highlights below can help you and your billing staff prepare.
HHS provides the following guidelines for coding and reporting updates to ICD-10. They’ve been developed to identify the diagnoses that are being reported at the highest level of specificity documented.
