Last weekend the College hosted its Allergen Extract Mixing Course. The program’s 92 participants traveled to Chicago for a full day of instruction and hands-on exercises that taught them how to safely and appropriately mix allergen extracts for use with patients.
Participants learned how to:
- Effectively implement the USP Chapter 797 guidelines for preparing allergen extract treatment sets.
- Identify the key changes to the allergen mixing environment and address the most recent cutting-edge research to advance immunotherapy.
- Prepare an allergen extract kit, including the selection of allergens, diluents, and allergen standardization.
- Meet garbing requirements and complete the media fill glove tip tests.
