The College’s Advocacy Council has the information you need on new ICD-10 codes. The 2023 ICD-10 codes became effective Oct. 1. Any claims on or after Oct. 1 should use the 2023 codes. 2023 is a good, free online ICD-10 reference you may find helpful. You can also find details on the new 2023 codes at the CMS website.


When using the CMS resource, we recommend first looking up the ICD-10 codes in the INDEX to Disease and Injuries Section and then reviewing the TABULAR List for specifics.

New 2023 ICD-10 codes of particular interest to allergists include:

D75.84 Other platelet-activating anti-PF4 disorders
Spontaneous heparin-induced thrombocytopenia syndrome (without heparin exposure); Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome; Vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia.
