The College’s Advocacy Council recently joined the AMA and other medical specialty organizations in encouraging Congress to support legislation that would continue the moratorium on the Medicare payment sequester for the duration of the public health emergency (PHE). The moratorium on the 2% Medicare payment sequester is scheduled to expire March 31, 2021.
Even with the development and distribution of effective vaccines, physician practices will continue to face overwhelming financial challenges and pressures associated with higher overhead costs (e.g., personal protective equipment) and lost revenue due to fewer patient visits and delayed procedures.
Please contact your members of Congress today and urge them to support H.R. 315 Medicare Sequester COVID Moratorium Act – bipartisan legislation that would continue the current Medicare sequester moratorium for the duration of the PHE.
