Attending the 2021 Annual Meeting in New Orleans?

The City of New Orleans is ready to welcome our attendees to the ACAAI Annual Scientific Meeting, Nov. 4 – 8. COVID-19 vaccination rates in the city are very good and increasing each day, and the number of cases continues to trend downward. We want to tell you a few things about what to expect with health and safety protocols while at the meeting.

The College has put into place various protocols to adhere to local guidelines as well other public health recommendations. We’ll continue to communicate all the information attendees need regarding any health and safety requirements that will be in place next month at our meeting venues and in the City of New Orleans.

Masking and COVID-19 vaccine/testing requirements and mandates

As with many large gatherings this fall, requirements will include the mandatory wearing of face masks, which will be provided for those who could use an extra one. In addition, attendees will need to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative PCR test to gain admission. The College and the convention center have planned efficient ways to get you checked in and moving about the meeting quickly while meeting the various health and safety requirements.

Important note for registered attendees: Please bring to New Orleans your proof of COVID-19 vaccination (showing at least one dose) or proof of a negative PCR test for COVID-19 administered within the prior 72 hours. Once you have provided this proof at the convention center checkpoint, you’ll be issued a wristband that will give you access to the meeting venues without having to stop at the checkpoint each day.

Download the CLEAR App to create your Health Pass for the meeting – strongly recommended

IMPORTANT: For ease of demonstrating vaccination status/negative PCR test at the convention center and at some other venues and restaurants around the city, attendees are strongly encouraged to download the CLEAR app that is being provided for our meeting at no charge to attendees. This app can also be used after the meeting to demonstrate your vaccination/test status at venues once you’re back home.

Check the Annual Meeting website to see how to use the CLEAR app. View a quick video illustrating how the CLEAR app works.

If you don’t wish to use the CLEAR app and Health Pass, you will be required to provide your COVID-19 vaccination card or a record of a negative PCR test (less than 72 hours old) as proof at the convention center checkpoint to receive your wristband. Please note that per the city of New Orleans, if you are relying on a PCR test to get access to the meeting and other local venues, your access will expire 72 hours after your test was administered. A list of local testing sites will be available in the event that you need a new test while in New Orleans.
