As the year ends, so too does the period when physicians can challenge data in the Open Payments Database. The Open Payments program, a provision of the Affordable Care Act, requires drug and device companies to report payments to physicians for research activities, gifts, speaking fees, meals or travel. Any data published this year can only be challenged through Dec. 31, 2018. If you believe data has been attributed in error, you need to initiate a dispute with the reporting drug or device company. More information can be found on the CMS Website.
