Young College members – Grow the skills you need to lead

December 5, 2016

Leading isn’t easy. It can be difficult to communicate ideas and goals to a team, and not everyone is born a great leader.

Don’t worry if that’s how you feel. The College has something new to support young allergists looking to grow their leadership skills. We’re bringing you the College Leadership Summit: Generation Next, March 25-26 in Chicago.

“This one-and-a-half-day Summit will provide a unique and exciting hands-on program for the practicing young allergist to develop important leadership skills. It will give all attendees, even those who have not yet had a leadership role, an incredible foundation to become a future leader in our great specialty," said Michael Blaiss, MD, FACAAI, executive medical director of the College.

The College Leadership Summit is perfect for young allergists (40 years old or younger or in practice 8 years or less) with any level of leadership experience – just drive is needed! Attend sessions where you will get the foundation you need for great leadership, the skills to put into practice, and the plan to give your future purpose. Sessions will cover topics like communicating effectively, tapping into your talent, innovating to effect, advocating effectively, managing change, being a great team leader, speaking with presence, and leading with purpose.

If you are interested in applying to take part in the Summit, download the application and submit it by Jan. 9, 2017. The College Member Relations Committee will review all applications and notify the 20 members who have been accepted for this inaugural course by the week of Jan. 23, 2017. There is no fee for the course or materials.  Participants will pay their own travel and hotel costs.
