What can your Super Delegate do for YOU?

What can your Super Delegate do for YOU?

Whether it’s an issue with your practice (like billing, coding, or insurance) or an issue in your state, take the first step towards solving the problem – contact your College House of Delegates Super Delegate. Make sure you know who your Super Delegate is and have their contact information handy. They want to hear from you.

During the College’s 2020 restructuring, the HOD was divided into seven regions – to better serve our membership – with a Super Delegate in each region. “Our HOD Super Delegates are my heroes,” said Maeve O’Connor, MD, FACAAI, HOD Speaker. “They have contacted their state society leaders and are working hard within their regions to establish allergy networks.” Our goal is for each state society to have personal contact with their Super Delegate – not only when problems arise – but as a resource of the allergy community.

In addition to your Super Delegates, each regional, state and local society is entitled to representation in the HOD through appointed delegates and alternate delegates (one pair for each 100 society members). If you’re interested in representing your society at a national level, let your regional, state or local society leadership know of your interest. Delegates and alternate delegates may or may not be an officer of the society, but they must be Fellows of the College – and are the only representatives who can vote during the annual Town Hall Meeting!

Save the date for our upcoming Town Hall meeting – Friday, October 27th, 4:00-6:00 pm in Boston – during the College’s Annual Meeting. We look forward to seeing you there!

“My term as ACAAI’s HOD Speaker is coming to an end”, said Dr. O’Connor. “As I reflect on the past two years, I think of the many great projects and webinars the HOD has provided for the College membership, as well as many great things still to come!”
