Shaping professional development to work for you

This spring, the College’s thought-leaders in education gathered in Chicago for the second Education Summit. On the agenda was a review of our current professional development offerings, and a goal to develop a three-year blueprint to guide the College’s future education activities.

Background for the work during the summit included what we heard from College members about their needs and wants and collected from evaluations, surveys and more. We looked at not only your feedback, but also gaps in our existing programs to make sure that our professional development offerings are shaped just for you.

During the Summit, we confirmed our four key domains to continue to focus on as we move forward. They include the Annual Scientific Meeting, ABAI support and certification, practice management and patient care and education curriculum and delivery.

We also developed a list of 12 key priorities and projects to focus on in the future. We’re looking forward to working on these projects to provide you the professional development you need at any stage of your journey. We’ll keep you posted about all these exciting new projects through College Insider as well as College Advantage.

Our Annual Meeting, this year taking place Nov. 15-19 in Seattle, has always been and will continue to be our premier educational event. Whether you are in training, a veteran allergist or somewhere in between, we have sessions that will meet your needs. Registration will open in early August for all members – so stay tuned for our email announcement.

But if you’re looking to boost your skills before the meeting, spend some time exploring the College Learning Connection. We have more than 75 hours of CME activities for you to choose from, many free to members. We have curated resources, webinars on practice management and so much more. You can even view most of the plenaries, symposia and workshops from previous Annual Meetings.

Our priority has, and always will be – you, our College members. This Education Summit is part of our commitment to making sure your membership gives you the tools you need to succeed, no matter what stage of your journey you are in.
