Help your practice spring ahead

February 19, 2018

Do you ever see fellow allergists in news stories and wonder how they got there? Do you need fresh, seasonal content for your website or patient newsletters? The College can help.

Our Marketing Toolkit features customizable templated articles for you to use with local media, on your website, in newsletters or any other way you would like to market your practice. Most are seasonal with a variety to choose from for each season of the year. Customize the spring articles now to be ready to use them next month.

But how about some real-life examples of how allergists are using these materials?

Member allergist Sonal Patel, MD, appeared in a recent Valentine’s Day article on the parenting website Red Tricycle. She saw the site had put out a call for contributors and decided to use the College’s template to create her article. The website included Dr. Patel’s photo and bio.

“The College has great information, and they make it easy to tailor it for my patients,” said Dr. Patel. “I enjoy it, and my patients get a kick out of seeing their allergist on websites they read. It’s a win-win. I’m trying to expand the number of sites where my articles are published – like Mommy MD Guides, self-help and pregnancy sites, and blogs that focus on children’s health.”

Dr. Patel says she is also planning to use some of the College’s immunotherapy patient information.

College member Maher Nashed, MD, heard a presentation on the resources available in the College’s Practice Management Center at last year’s Annual Scientific Meeting. He checked it out and found a template release on tips for coping with spring allergies. He’s using the tips to create a flyer to mail to households in his community.

“It serves both the community and me,” says Dr. Nashed. “Allergy sufferers will receive valuable information on how to cope with their spring allergies, and it gets my name in front of prospective patients.”
