The College defines education

September 8, 2015

One definition of “college” is a “group of colleagues with similar interests whose goal is to provide educational opportunities in a specific area.” Your College is doing just that. You’ve seen over the past year the transformational changes brought about by our Vision 2020 initiative. When Vision 2020 launched, we committed to increasing our education offerings and engaging members in shaping the future of the College. With the reorganizational structure, the Education Council, chaired by Dana Wallace, MD, FACAAI, brings together the following committees who spearhead the College’s educational efforts:

  • Accreditation and Certification
  • Allied Health Professionals
  • Annual Program Planning
  • Clinical Programs/Patient Safety & Quality
  • Education Services, Data, & Technology
  • Practice Management
  • Program Directors/GME

Under Dr. Wallace’s leadership, the first ACAAI Education Summit is planned for this weekend in Chicago. This inaugural Education Summit will bring together members from the Education Council and the College leadership. The charge will be to create a three-year roadmap for educational offerings and develop programs and resources members need for their professional development and maintenance of certification (MOC).

In the meantime, the College has already launched the College Learning Connection, which provides 24/7 accesses to first-class specialty content, courses and resources from experts in the field. Stayed tuned as your College works to meet your educational needs
