Please participate - Survey of Specialty Care

The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology knows it is often difficult to coordinate care with the primary care physicians who have requested referrals. In an effort to improve care coordination, the College has been asked by the American College of Physicians (ACP) to assist them in a research study that will benefit us all. The College is one of 14 subspecialties participating in ACP's brief Survey of Specialty Care.

The survey is related to subspecialists' experience of coordination of care with primary care providers and is the first of its kind. Once the measures are validated, they can be used to assess four key elements of care coordination, assess the extent to which these elements are influenced by context and impact outcomes, and guide and monitor quality improvement efforts. We will have access to the survey results for our specialty as well as overall summary data.

What is your experience of outpatient referrals from primary care providers (PCPs)? Are referrals clear and complete? Can you reach the referring PCP when necessary? Your answers to this anonymous 10-12 minute research survey will help us improve coordination of referrals for specialty care.
