Dr. Meadows goes to Washington

J. Allen Meadows, MD, FACAAI, went on a small “thank you tour” last week, visiting key players who helped the College and the Advocacy Council in our fight to continue to provide affordable immunotherapy to patients. “While many people played a big role in preserving our ability to give allergy shots, two of our biggest champions in Washington were Congressmen Robert Aderholt (R-AL) and Morgan Griffith (R-VA),” said Dr. Meadows. “While visiting Washington on January 29, I personally thanked them and their staff, as they were so critical in getting us the first meetings with the United States Pharmacopeia and the Food and Drug Administration. While clearly this was a team victory, these two gave us indispensable support. I brought thanks to them on behalf of the entire allergy family. We will be back with a bigger group in May when the Strike Force goes to Washington for our annual visit. This year, our main focus will be thanking champions for their help in preserving our ability to prepare allergy extracts in-office and maintaining our existing relationships for the future.”
